Connected Energy Metering & Automated Load Control Solution with Cloud monitoring and management
The CBI :energy Building Energy Management solution is a powerful energy control system that uses connected smart meters and load control devices installed directly into a site’s electrical wiring network, communicating with a sophisticated software platform. This advanced solution provides facility management and building automation
capabilities that reduce electricity costs for any business on a time-of-use tariff plan.
The CBI :energy Building Energy Management solution allows businesses to manage their electricity consumption
better, proactively manage their facilities, and provides a wealth of ground-truthed data for sustainability and governance reporting – for stakeholders, for energy performance certfication and for energy efficiency tax incentives.
Best of all: this solution is low cost, flexible, and requires minimal business disruption to install, configure and operate,
Reduce Consumption, Reduce Costs
:energy’s Building Energy Management solution automates the control of your electrical loads. Gives you greater visibility. Makes your building smarter. Brings electricity costs under control and reduces your CO2 footprint .

Key electrical circuits controlled remotely over wireless network to manage discretionary loads

Automation of loads based on user-configured rules and real-time data from in-building electrical distribution system

Intelligent recommendations of energy conservation actions based on trends and smart rules

Rapid deployment with minimal disruption to business operation through “fit&form” devices

Detailed analytics on consumption by loads via onsite dashboards or CBI Customer Cloud portal

Accurate calculation of total monthly cost savings though intelligent rating and billing system

Shape, Shift, Shed, Shimmy

• User-defined load shedding avoids undesirable consumption peaks and the penalties these attract
• Flatten the load profile by reducing unnecessary peaks
• Reduce electricity wastage
• Reduce costs incurred by using power during peak tariff times
• Reduce both sizing and cost of battery storage and solar systems
Reduce energy consumption, reduce energy costs, reduce Maximum Demand Penalties and protect inverters and batteries by shaping, shifting, shedding and shimmying significant loads.
Solution Overview
- Cost-effective energy management system that provides business and technical audiences with detailed visibility into their energy usage via a variety of interfaces, dashboards and reporting capabilities.
Load control automations, user alerts and notifications, and detailed visibility via dashboards, reports. User-configurable via centrally-managed rules and policies that cascade down to each site.

Detailed visibility on actual and potential cost savings via an intelligent tariff rating system, with business-focused benchmarks and indicators.
Standards compliant, high-quality hardware devices that allow you to meter, monitor, manage and switch electrical loads remotely (up to 60A in-line, more with external contactor), and meter or sub-meter electrical circuits (four-quadrant Class 1, 80A in-line, more with an external CT). High accuracy, granular data is exchanged between devices and an on-premises intelligent energy management software system, mirrored to the Cloud.
Energy telemetry and analytics enable data-driven decision making and behaviour changes to drive energy efficiency and energy saving initiatives. Highly resilient fully-managed energy management solution specifically designed for medium to large commercial implementation with both local and Cloud-based functionality.
Automatically generate reports for documentation required for ‘Green Certification’ such as building Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and ISO 50000 certification.

Functions and Features
The CBI :energy Building Energy Management solution provides users with detailed energy utilisation and load state telemetry at one-minute intervals, with no summarisation of data in primary stores. CBI :energy provides customers with access to their granular, real time or aggregated data via API at no additional cost.
This full energy management solution uses an on-premises energy management platform to allow automated and manual control (switching) instructions to be sent and actioned by devices within one second. Control instructions can be interlocked, scheduled or conditional (if-this-then-that).
The solution’s load control devices have large relays, very high measurement accuracy, high performance radios and sophisticated systems and performance management features. Metering devices are Class 1 (<1% accuracy, bi-directional) for billing applications, sub metering and power measurement on individual loads. Telemetry is generated at one minute intervals (or on event) for real and reactive power, real and reactive energy, power factor, voltage, current, device temperature and radio signal strength.
Customers can join horizontal or vertical energy communities where individual customers can examine their energy utilisation and efficiency programme performance against peers in their industry sector, at their other sites, or compare themselves to other business types. Energy communities with automated load control creates the ability to do aggregated load-shedding as groups, and manage the movement of energy within or between sites.
